Privacy Policy
Guns for Eyes · Last updated 4 July 2026
Guns for Eyes is a turn-based tactics game. This policy explains, in plain terms, what data the game holds, why, and the control you have over it. We do not run ads, and we do not sell your data.
What we collect
- A device id. On first launch the game creates a random, anonymous id and stores it in your browser. It is how the game remembers your games, rank, and settings without an account.
- Your email — only if you sign in. Signing in is optional and uses a one-time magic link sent to your email. We store the email to identify your account and to send that link. If you never sign in, we hold no email for you.
- Gameplay data. Match history, your rank and rating, win/loss record, cosmetics you own and have equipped, daily-challenge scores, and friend connections you choose to make.
- Notifications you opt into. If you enable turn alerts, we store a push-notification subscription and/or an email address for that purpose. You can turn these off at any time.
- Basic technical data. Standard server logs (e.g. request times, error reports) used to keep the game running and fix bugs.
What we do NOT do
- No advertising, and no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- No third-party analytics or marketing SDKs.
- We never sell or rent your data.
How your data is used
Only to run the game: to match you with opponents, track your rank, show your games and friends, send the sign-in link and any turn alerts you enable, and diagnose problems. When you play an online match, your display name and rank tier are visible to your opponent — that is inherent to playing.
Where it lives
The web app is served by Vercel, the game server runs on Render, and game data is stored in Upstash (Redis). Sign-in emails are sent through Resend. These providers process data only to deliver those services on our behalf.
Your rights
You are always in control of your data from inside the game:
- Export it. Signed in, open the account panel and choose Download my data to get a complete JSON copy of everything tied to your account.
- Delete it. Choose Delete account to permanently erase your account, rank, cosmetics, and friends. Finished matches are kept for your opponents' records but are anonymized so you appear only as “Deleted player.” This cannot be undone.
- Block & report. You can block or report another player from within a match or your friends list.
Data retention
Account data is kept while your account exists and is removed when you delete it. Individual matches expire automatically after about two weeks of inactivity.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above. Material changes will be surfaced in the game.
